Morning Message To Ruto, What Will Happen If His Allies Attacks Gachagua

Governor Mutahi Kahiga of Nyeri has urged President William Ruto to step in and address the ongoing criticism of his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, by his supporters. During an interview with NTV on Sunday night, Governor Kahiga emphasized that it is within President Ruto's authority to instruct these lawmakers to show respect towards Mr. Gachagua. He expressed his concern over the President's lack of response or intervention, highlighting the disparity compared to the Deputy President, who is facing attacks from leaders aligned with Dr. Ruto. Governor Kahiga also stated his commitment to honoring the office of the Deputy President in accordance with the President's directive, urging President Ruto to issue this order.

The ongoing criticism of Deputy President Gachagua stems from his stance on the distribution of government revenue, particularly his emphasis on the population density in various regions of the country. This has sparked a debate, with the majority leader of the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah, and other supporters of President Ruto arguing that such an approach could fuel tribalism and division within Kenya. Additionally, Gachagua has faced backlash for endorsing the "one-man, one-vote, one-shilling" income allocation plan, which has been supported by ministers Kithure Kindiki, Moses Kuria, and Aden Duale, as well as other members of parliament from the Mount Kenya region, including Kiru MP Ndindi Nyoro and Nyeri Town MP Duncan Mathenge.

The call for President Ruto's intervention in addressing the criticism of Deputy President Gachagua underscores the growing tensions within the political landscape. Governor Kahiga's plea for the President to assert his authority and address the situation reflects the complexities and dynamics of the relationships between various political figures and their supporters. The ongoing debate surrounding the distribution of government revenue and the differing perspectives on this matter further highlight the need for constructive dialogue and resolution to ensure unity and cohesion within the country.
