Tension has gripped Farhareli area in Bangale Sub-County, Tana River County, after a 24-year-old charcoal worker was shot dead by two armed men who attacked a group of casual labourers on Saturday at around 9 p.m. The victim, Robert Mtalii Ekitela, was one of six casual labourers working for a woman in the charcoal business when the two gunmen confronted the group. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have released photographs of Police Constable Julius Cheruiyot, the officer suspected of shooting dead prominent lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu in Nairobi.
