The man, identified online as Baba Wanja, was arrested after footage showing him repeatedly attacking a woman sparked outrage on social media. Some viewers initially mistook the woman for his daughter, but people familiar with the incident later clarified she was reportedly a cousin of his wife.

According to a family source, the incident happened after the man's wife, who was reportedly drinking at the time, invited her cousin over. The cousin came to keep her company, reportedly unaware that the husband was listening from another room. He then allegedly confronted and attacked her. A house help who recorded the incident reportedly feared she could become a target too.

Family members have also made other claims about the couple's relationship, alleging the man restricted his wife's contact with relatives and friends. These claims have not been independently verified.

A separate video, reportedly recorded in August 2025, has since resurfaced. In it, the man appears alone in his living room, removing a television from its wall mount and damaging other household items, including a sound system. Those sharing the video claim it followed a disagreement with his wife, who had allegedly locked herself in the bedroom.
