"If Kusaficha Jina Was a Person" Alinur Speaks Out After Police Provides GenZs With Food

The police in Kenya have taken a step to distribute food to the citizens gathered at Uhuru Park to honor those who lost their lives during the protests against the 2024 finance bill. This act of distributing food shows a gesture of goodwill and an attempt to mend the strained relationship between the police force and the community. The move was captured in a video shared by Honorable Alinur Mohammed, a prominent figure in the Orange Democratic Movement party, who highlighted the police's efforts to change the negative perception following the tragic events.

The situation has garnered attention from various sources, with President William Ruto addressing the issue of rogue police officers who have been involved in the killing of protestors. President Ruto emphasized that the government is committed to addressing the concerns raised by the public and ensuring that justice is served. This acknowledgment from the highest office in the country signifies a willingness to hold those responsible for the violence accountable and work towards a more peaceful resolution.

Additionally, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, a key figure in the Azimio la Umoja Coalition and a presidential candidate, expressed his sympathies to the families and friends of the deceased individuals. Odinga condemned the actions of the police officers involved in the killings and called for swift action to be taken against them. His statement echoes the sentiments of many Kenyans who are seeking justice and accountability for the lives lost during the protests, emphasizing the importance of upholding human rights and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
