Update: How AP Graduate Cynthia Cherotich Died Hours After Graduation in Nairobi Accident

More details have emerged on the death of newly graduated Administration Police officer Cynthia Cherotich who died in a road accident just hours after her graduation.

Cherotich had graduated on September 4, 2026, at the National Police Service College, Embakasi 'A' Campus in Nairobi after nine months of intensive training at the Administration Police Training College.

She was travelling home the next day, September 5, to celebrate the milestone with her family when the fatal accident happened in Nairobi.

According to an update shared by a family member who spoke to http://TUKO.co.ke, Cherotich was crossing the road with a colleague when she was hit. Her colleague survived with injuries.

The family says they are yet to receive official communication from the National Police Service, and many relatives learned of her death through social media.

"It happened when she was crossing the road in Nairobi. They were two. Her colleague was just injured. The worst part is that she is the firstborn and had lost her mother at the age of four. I learned it online. It is very sad," the relative said.

The family member added that the delay in official communication has made the loss even more painful.

Cherotich had just begun her career in law enforcement and was set to celebrate her achievement at home before tragedy struck.
