Trans Nzoia Community Rallies Together to Search for Missing Woman

A community in Trans Nzoia has come together to support a family searching for a missing woman, after retired police officer Michael Kimtai returned home from a medical appointment to find his wife gone.

Kimtai reported that his wife had been left at home while he attended a few days of medical check-ups. On his return, he found she was nowhere to be found, with neighbours saying they hadn't seen her since he left.

Rather than waiting on police alone, family members and neighbours quickly mobilised, joining forces to search nearby bushes, farms, and trading centres for any sign of her. The effort reflects the kind of close-knit community response common in the area, where neighbours describe her as quiet, hardworking, and well-liked — someone with no known conflicts that might explain her disappearance.

Kimtai, who spent many years in the police force himself, has formally reported the matter to local police, who have confirmed they are investigating and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
