New Details Emerge in Investigation Into Death of Francisca Wanja Thuranira

 Francisca had moved to Nairobi about two years earlier to study beauty and cosmetics. According to reports, she had recently been going through difficulties in her relationship and had gone to stay with her aunt, Agrippina Meme, at her apartment in Umoja Two.

On the morning of the incident, Agrippina left for work at around 7:30 a.m., leaving Francisca at the apartment. Later that morning, witnesses reportedly saw Francisca enter the apartment with a man believed to be her boyfriend. The circumstances of that meeting, and what happened inside the apartment afterward, remain part of the ongoing investigation.

A neighbour later found the front door open and went inside, where Francisca was discovered unresponsive on a bed. Police responded to the scene and confirmed she had suffered eight stab wounds to the chest. Her body was subsequently taken to Mama Lucy Kibaki Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and a postmortem.

The investigation has since surfaced another notable detail. According to a report by TUKO, mobile phone data examined by investigators showed that a man believed to be Francisca's boyfriend had called her eight times on the morning of her death, with his phone also reportedly placed at the apartment around that time. His phone was later switched off. These details remain part of an active investigation and do not, on their own, establish guilt.

Police are treating the case as a suspected murder and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Francisca's death. A relationship-related motive has been mentioned in connection with the case, but authorities have not conclusively established a motive, and investigations remain ongoing.

As detectives work to piece together her final hours, key questions remain open: who was with Francisca in the apartment, what happened following the phone calls, and what ultimately led to her death. Answers will depend on the evidence gathered as the investigation continues.
