What Lorna Ogolla Does at Google Ahead of Her Appointment to Cybersecurity Board

 Lorna Ogolla Omondi has been appointed to the board of the National Cybersecurity Agency.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen made the appointment through a gazette notice dated September 11. She will serve for three years.

Lorna is the daughter of the late Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla. General Ogolla died in a military helicopter crash in West Pokot in April 2024.

Before her appointment, Lorna built a career in technology. She is currently Head of Operational Excellence for Google's Data Centre Equipment Supply Chain. She has held the position since April 2023.

Her work involves business operations, operations management, strategic planning and data management.

She previously served as senior lead in supply planning at Google from October 2021 to April 2023. In that role, she managed worldwide supply capacity planning for Google's data centres.

She also worked as lead functional supply planning and lead global infrastructure at Google. She worked on energy and location strategy for the company's data centre infrastructure.

Before joining Google, she worked as a management and economic consultant at Analysis Group. She also worked as an energy analyst at Greylock McKinnon Associates.

She served as a research assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Economics.

She was appointed alongside Jerop Joy Kibor.
