Winnie Odinga Breaks Silence After Visiting Raila's Grave for First Time Since Burial

EALA MP Winnie Odinga has visited her father Raila Odinga's grave for the first time since burial.

She visited the grave on Saturday, September 12 in Bondo, Siaya county.

Raila was buried on October 19, 2025 at Kang'o Ka Jaramogi. It is almost one year.

Winnie shared a message on Facebook after the visit.

"Took me a while to get here. My first time visiting Dad's grave. Pole pole. We keep building," she wrote.

She had said in August that she had not returned to the grave since burial.

She had planned to return in October for the one-year anniversary.

A committee has been formed to organize Raila's memorial. It will be a celebration of life.

The construction of Raila Odinga Mausoleum is at 50 percent. It is being supervised by Ministry of Defence.

The mausoleum is next to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga's resting place. It will be completed by end of September.
