At least five people died after a bus and a saloon car collided head-on along the Gilgil-Nakuru Highway.
The accident happened at around 11 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2026, in the Kamugunda area.
Police said the bus was travelling from Gilgil towards Nakuru when its driver allegedly left his lane and veered into the path of an oncoming Toyota IST.
The two vehicles collided head-on.
Four passengers in the Toyota IST, two women and two juveniles, died on the spot.
The driver of the Toyota IST survived the crash but was critically injured. He was rushed to St. Joseph Hospital where he later died while receiving treatment.
Some witnesses claimed the bus belonged to Easy Coach, but the company had not issued a statement by the time of reporting.
Police moved the bodies to PNN Funeral Home where they are being preserved pending identification and postmortem.
Both vehicles were towed to a police station yard for inspection as investigations continue.
Police said the crash was part of a deadly day on Kenyan roads on Sunday, September 13, which left at least 16 people dead and 15 others seriously injured in separate accidents across the country.
