Siaya: Missing Woman Found Dead and Buried Inside Store in Her Own Home, Shamba Boy on the Run

A woman who was reported missing in Masiro Village, Ugenya sub-county, Siaya county has been found dead and buried inside her own homestead.

Eunice Atieno Siaji went missing on Thursday morning, prompting family and neighbours to start a search.

Her body was later discovered buried inside one of the stores within her compound. Photos shared from the scene showed a freshly dug grave inside the store with a jembe and bricks beside it.

"I am sad to come back and tell you that this woman was found dead yesterday and buried in her house by her shamba boy," said digital creator Arich Ndege, who was among those leading the search.

Family members said a shamba boy who had been working at the homestead is the main suspect. He disappeared after the incident and is currently on the run.

The family has appealed to anyone with a photo of the suspect to share it to help in the search. It was not immediately clear if police had formally launched a manhunt.

The incident has shocked residents of Masiro, who described Eunice as a beloved mother and wife.
