Minister's Desperate Effort to Save Official Who Collapsed Inside Assembly Fails

A sad incident happened inside the Telangana State Assembly in Hyderabad, India, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, after a government official suddenly collapsed and died despite efforts to save him.

The official has been identified as Krishna Mohan Raju, 50, who was working as personal secretary to senior IAS officer Navin Mittal. He was also a section officer in the energy department. According to Press Trust of India, Raju collapsed in a corridor inside the Assembly building while a legislative session was ongoing.

A video that has since circulated online shows State Animal Husbandry and Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari rushing to help him. The minister is seen kneeling on a red carpet and performing CPR, giving chest compressions as staff and bystanders watched in shock. He continued until a doctor on duty at the Assembly arrived and took over.

Despite all the efforts, Raju could not be saved. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead before arrival. Reports by Hindustan Times indicate he is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

CPR is an emergency procedure done when someone's heart stops beating or they stop breathing, to keep blood and oxygen flowing to the brain until advanced medical help comes.

The incident has left many in the Assembly in shock as a normal working day turned into a tragedy.
