Amisi Claims Natembeya Will Cause Sifuna's "Downfall" Amid Linda Mwananchi Wrangles

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has claimed that Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya could end up derailing Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's political prospects, accusing the governor of stirring up internal conflict within the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Speaking on Wednesday, September 16, Amisi alleged that Natembeya has been pushing certain politicians out of the movement since joining it.

"Natembeya joined Linda Mwananchi, which I founded, and he has started pushing people like Babu out. You can even see them arguing over a microphone," Amisi said. "You want Sifuna to be President, yet you are disrupting the people who are supposed to help make him President. George Natembeya is actually Sifuna's downfall."

The Saboti MP further claimed that Natembeya was behind his own removal from the movement's WhatsApp group. "When Natembeya joined Linda Mwananchi, he first said that I should be removed from the WhatsApp group. One day, I woke up and found that I had been removed," he said.

Amisi's comments come a day after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino pushed back on suggestions that his relationship with Sifuna had soured. Speaking on Tuesday, September 15, Babu argued there was no basis for tension between them, noting that the two aren't competing for the same seat.

He also dismissed claims that he was envious of Sifuna or working to undermine his presidential bid. "Those who are in doubt of the relationship that I have with my brother Sifuna, you have to know that I have no particular challenge or problem with him," Babu said. "Some are even going as far as saying that Babu is jealous of Sifuna. Babu Owino is vying for Nairobi Governor, and Sifuna is vying for president. There is no conflicting interest. There is no way Babu will fight Sifuna, so do not bring tension where there is none."
